Depending on each patient’s diagnosis, particular difficulties, and medical history, treatment options may include one or more of the following:
EMG Analysis / Biofeedback
Patient education and training, including diet and nutrition, home exercise program, posture awareness, self massage, education regarding hormonal changes, relaxation techniques and any additional information regarding their diagnosis.
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation to re-educate the neurological-muscle connection.
Manual therapy, including myofascial release, massage, visceral mobilization, joint mobilization and manual stretching.
Therapeutic exercises for core dynamic stabilization, strengthening, posture re-education, and
optimal control of pelvic floor musculature.
Physiological quieting and relaxation techniques for optimal function of the autonomic nervous system.
Modalities, as needed, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, use of hot and cold modalities.
Option of aquatic physical therapy for continent patients with pain due to adhesions or muscle
imbalances.
